Camp Director: Coach Danny
Coach Danny Williams is a proud San Francisco native that has chosen to dedicate his time to give back to his community. Danny grew up in Westwood Park where he attended St. Brendan school, Sacred Heart Cathedral, and later Loyola University New Orleans to study Economics. In his younger years, he played Soccer, Basketball, and Baseball. He spent most of his spare time playing sports in the street with his two brothers and neighborhood friends. In high school, he played football and earned a college rugby scholarship while playing for Golden Gate. Catholic education is an integral part of his family's history. When his great-Grandfather first immigrated to San Francisco he worked at St. Brigid and later Holy Name as a handy man and his Grandmother, Maureen Laval, worked in the office at St. Brendan for over twenty years. Danny's mother teaches religion at St. Philip, his Aunt helps teach Kindergarten at St. Brendan, and his cousin Janie is a 5th grade teacher at Holy Name. Recently he married his long time love, Meghan, who teaches English at Riordan High School and is also the Dance coach. Shortly after graduating from St. Brendan, he began coaching for his now mentor, Mike Legarza. Mike taught him that greatness is a daily choice and showed him how to coach with a contagious positive attitude using encouragement to drive results and personal growth. Danny worked for Mike for over a decade where he became the youngest gym and later site director in the company’s history. After a decade of refining his skills, he decided to start his own organization and camp. A few years ago, he was able to close a deal with one of Jerry Jones' subsidiaries which gave him the capital to expand his camps and focus on them full time. He is currently the PE instructor at St. Brendan school where he coaches 4-5 CYO basketball and soccer teams a year with the guidance of his Athletic Director, Dave Lopez and his uncle Rob Kaprosch. This year he also helped to revive the cross-country program which took home more medals than any other school. His community means everything to him and the children adore him. His cartoon-like character and positive attitude are why campers continue to come back to the fastest growing camp in San Francisco and why his camp has now grown to two other bay area cities.
